Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey was one of the best games on the original Nintendo DS. It was a fascinating blend of sci-fi elements, demons, quirky writing and punishing dungeon crawler gameplay. There were also multiple story paths to explore and a New Game+ mode, so the replay value was excellent. It was a weird but essential handheld RPG.
Now, nearly ten years after its original launch, Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux is coming to the 3DS as an enhanced port. It’s out on May 15th and offers brand new story content and quality of life improvements to make the journey slightly more forgiving.
A spatial distortion full of demons appeared in Antarctica, threatening to engulf the Earth in Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey. The United Nations responded by tasking a team of highly advanced specialists with piercing the anomaly and figuring out how to stop it from the source. Well, get ready to don your Demonica once again in this new expanded port: Shin Megami Tensei: Strange Journey Redux. Expect new story content, additional endings, a new dungeon to explore, and more in the return of this sci-fi tinged SMT adventure.
