Welcome to the Akayuki Archives. This is a restoration project for Akayuki, our former gaming blog and the predecessor to ManaJournal.
Akayuki was an independent video game website operated by ManaJournal staff back in 2007-2009. It was a simple blog dedicated to the latest news, soundtracks, trailers, concept art and more.
For no particular reason (other than boredom) we’ve decided to restore and compile our old articles on this website. It’s not the most amazing content in the world, but it should serve as an interesting throwback to gaming in the late 2000s.
Akayuki Authors
We would like to thank the following staff members for their contributions to the now-defunct website(s):
- Byakuya – Former webmaster at Akayuki
- Shiron – Former author at Akayuki
- Suzaku – Former author at Akayuki
- Soul – Former author at Akayuki and webmaster of Forever-Fantasy.net
- Jak – Former author at Akayuki
- Nemo – Former author at Akayuki
- Duane – Former author at Akayuki
- Trevor – Former author at Akayuki
Note: Other articles can be found under the Akayuki Staff user.
For privacy reasons we will not share any information about former contributors, but if you have any questions related to the website or its content you can send us a DM on Bluesky or Cohost.org.
So far we’ve restored 551 news articles from Akayuki, but we’re not stopping there. Keep an eye on the archives for new (old?) additions in the future.
FFWorldwide
As a bonus we’ve included a handful of articles from FFWorldwide. This was a short-lived 2006 era website dedicated to the Final Fantasy series. These articles will be marked with the #FFWorldwide tag.

Enjoy!
