Finally, some good news for us impatient Fable fans. A new gameplay trailer has hit the world wide web (yes, I still say that), and it teases an Autumn 2026 release for the game. No specific date has been given, mind you, but it is rather close to the Grand Theft Auto VI release window, which is an interesting choice. Then again, there might not be a huge overlap between the two playerbases to begin with.
Regardless, the trailer looks good. It shows off some beautiful scenery and brief flashes of gameplay. As someone just finished a re-play of Fable 2 last year, this very much looks like a true next-gen Fable experience to me. It seemingly has everything we’ve come to expect of this series. Big open world with RPG combat? Check. Annoying mini-games? Check. Houses you can buy? Check. People you can marry? Check. Oh, and that guy from the IT Crowd shows up at the end of the trailer. I’m still not sure what his role in all of this is, but it’s somewhat intriguing.
Now, I did spot some rough performance here and there, and I don’t know if there will be any sort of “performance mode” at launch, but I suppose it’s possible they can iron out some of these issues before then. At any rate, I’m stoked.
Check out the trailer below.
