Konami today announced that they have shipped Metal Gear Solid: The Essential Collection for the PlayStation 2.

Featuring the original Metal Gear Solid games for the PS1 and PS2, the $29.99 price tag is well worth it if you are missing a couple of games, or wish to check out the roots of the series before getting MGS4.
